With the campaign season heating up, and topics like contraception and Planned Parenthood making regular appearances in the headlines, it's also the season for excuses, denials, and revisionist history from supporters of conservative causes and the Republican party.
Just today, we had a conservative on our Facebook page who said, "The GOP has never taken the stance of refusing abortions in the case of rape and incest." Now, if this was 1986, you might be able to say that with a straight face. But today? Seriously?
The list goes on. From big politicians with a national profile to state legislators, Republicans by the bucketful are refusing to grant an exception to women who've been raped or victimized through incest. Can you imagine?
Add to that the GOP war on contraception and Planned Parenthood, and the score comes into focus. The GOP is engaging in a war on women. Even when you're the victim of a crime, the Republicans would force you to give birth to the child of your attacker. Changing the subject, denying the facts, and making excuses don't change that.
Ok, I'm calling this Michael Berry guy out on this carjacking thing. No one was ever arrested or even questioned for the crime. He doesn't even call police after the supposed carjacking yet he says 3 knife wielding Hispanic men forced him out of his car. They find the car just a few blocks down the road, nothing had been done to it, no damage, no chop shop job, nothing.
Ok, you look on his web page for KTRH, and what do you see, he's a big member of StandWithArizona.org. Now what does that tell you? Hispanic hater. I think the whole thing was a putup job and it wouldn't be the first time somebody pulled a stunt like this.
He hates Obama, blacks, gays, Hispanics. Oh, and not only do they have an eyewitness that id'd him in the parking lot, they have him on video surveillance inside the club that night. It's time this guy got his comeuppance.

Lee,
I gotta get off the Ed show blog, I'm missing all the good gossip right here in the hometown. This guy has a wife and kids. And, seems there was another late night bar parking lot incident involving him a couple of years ago. This one was at the Firehouse Saloon which is a nice club, I've been there. Supposedly he was there to see country music singer Cory Morrow. But he says his Chevy Tahoe got carjacked outside the club by 3 knife wielding Hispanic men. But instead of calling the police, he took a cab home. His car was located by Onstar at an apartment complex a couple of blocks away. Story sounds pretty darned fishy. Why is he out at all these bars late at night if he has a wife and kids at home. He also is famous for his "blow the ground zero mosque up" on his radio show. Honestly, never heard of this guy til now.

Linda S, It was T.C.'s Showbar in the Montrose area. Looks like the police are helping Michael Berry cover it up. Apparently video footage and witnesses don't count as evidence to the Houston PD. On the bright side, at least Jon Stewart will have plenty to joke about!

Yup, just as I thought, just saw the local nbc affiliate news story, Montrose area bar. This guy also used to be a Houston city councilman. The bad news is there is obviously an effort for some reason by the D.A.'s office here not to investigate or prosecute. They tried to say the guy was not positively identified as having been the driver, not so, he was identified. This really ticks me off, if it was some local drunk he would have been hauled in by now, mug photo taken, fingerprinted, the works.

Lee I bet I know right where that bar was too. The infamous Montrose area. The sad truth is that too many runaways end up down in that area. They end up with no money and no place to stay and creeps like that guy are just lurkng there waiting to help them out for a small price.

Perhaps this radical GOP zero tolerance for abortion even in cases of rape, incest, or to save the life and health of the mother can be summed up in one word: UN-AMERICAN.

Lee, I just looked that one up...awesome. Yet another closeted bigot busted. You always have to suspect the ones that scream the most about somebody else's lifestyle. I'd bet ten thousand dollars if (I had Romney's money) That the finding Jesus moment is coming for this hypocrite in 5,4,3,2...........

Rob, "Do as I say, not as I do" indeed! Apparently a conservative radio talk show host was identified at a drag bar in Houston. (He was involved in a hit-and-run in the parking lot, and was identified on video, by the parking lot attendant who witnessed it and by the bar staff as a patron). The list of conservative closet case stooges is a mile long by now.

The repubs need an exorcism. They have been spouting their B.S. for so long, they actually believe it. Their absolute inability to separate church from state will be their undoing. The don't do as I do / do as I say is running out of gas for the mainstream. Look at the riots worldwide against the wealthiest that control everyone elses life. Faith to them is nothing in particular, just take my word on it. The Republican party and the Vatican, two peas in a pod.
