I'll tell you what is wrong with Democrats. Many Democrats have done the exact same things as Republicans, over the years, for over 30 years, or so,and voted for things that sent jobs overseas and cosied up to the big guys, because that is the hand which feeds their re-election campaigns. That 1999 accountability for Corporate America, and Wall Street, which passed both houses at the end of the Clinton Administration, is a good example of why the Democrats are no different. Only 5 people voted against it, and one two them were Bernie Sanders, and Russ Feingold. Many of the people in both Houses, of Congress, are Millionaires, and have a hard time relating, to having your phone cut off, or going to a food bank, or not having enough money for everything, or doing some other things that hurt the pride that you have in yourself. Many of them just don't understand at all! Some just don't care!! I think I have explained why many Democrats, are silent, on many things. Many of them also, come from conservative districts, and they, know, that one wrong move and they are out of there. That is probably the main reason, it is all about getting re-elected, not about doing what is right for people, or really trying to explain to their constitutents, why they need to take some difficult votes. Some Democrats, like Harry Reid, and I like him, but they just don't have what it takes to get really mad, and I don't know why, exactly! You cannot use a wimpering, I am afraid to say anything attitude like Reid and some others do, alot of the time, if you really want to change some big things. You have to be strong and forceful against what is wrong!

Its like Dylan Rattigan, said on his RANT, on his former MSNBC, show, that both sides are bought and paid for!! PERIOD!!!!

Having said all that, there are some very good Democrats out there, Sherrod Brown, of Ohio, is one, and there are some others!

One of the biggest things, that grates on my nerves, and makes me want to cry, is the house GOP-trying to vote through, a terrible Farm Bill, which takes food away from children, and working people like single parents, and rewards big Corporate Farms instead of small farmers. Instead of offering the small farmer, or any farmer for that matter, a fair price for their crop everytime they plant, gives subsides, based on their yearly income, and of cource, the big guys will win out everytime.

Our country over the last 30 years, or so, has developed this mentality, of big, big, big, and the hell with everyone else! That has got to stop!!!! Now!!

I would like to remind everyone about what Medicaid ISN'T. You say the word and people automatically think "people who want free stuff".

Well, the lovely job creating corporations in this country, most specifically the hospital industrial complex and big Pharma have priced most of our elderly out of existence of healthcare in their later years when they need long term care in a facility other than their home.

Medicare does NOT pay for in home healthcare by skilled nurses. This is where Medicaid comes in. After these people have worked hard all their lives, fought in wars, raised kids and grandkids and are now in need themselves, the death panels that be would like for them to just go away.

But they forget about all the expensive life saving drugs and equipment that is the reason many of the elderly are still around and have longer life expectancies than ever. They wanted the money for all that stuff but forgot that it would mean the elderly would live longer, omg, dilemma.

Many of the elderly have to adjust their savings, etc., in order to qualify for Medicaid so they can enter a long term care facility. And many of them are understaffed and don't provide the best of care but there is no other alternative.

So thanks to the wonderful governors who just want to put the middle finger to the President and deny everyone their "free stuff" thousands of elderly will be judged by the death panel. In denying Medicaid coverage they are creating an automatic death panel for the elderly. They have no other choice. This is their only option unless they are filthy rich. The filthy rich don't have to worry about anything. They have doctors and nurses coming and going from their homes at all hours giving the best of care.

So............Alex..............when it's your turn to be elderly and your family needs to find money to care for you, think about it. You will be forced to die at home with no real nursing care or pray for God's grace to take you in your sleep. These are the choices we have thanks to the GOP.

Alex: The conservatives have had 30 years to come up with a health care reform bill. Where is it jackass? The status quo of 50 million uninsured, 45,000 of whom die annually from treatable conditions plus the one million personal bankruptcies filed because of expensive medical bills are all unacceptable. We also need to realize the U.S. ranks about 37th in overall public health measures but we pay twice as much as Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Canada for health care. All of these countries beat us in efficiency and in quality of care. So say anything you want. Your CBO figures are bogus too. The CBO figures scored the ACA as saving $140 billion the first decade it was enacted and will save well over one trillion dollars in the second decade. The ACA will cover 30 million uninsured. The governors that are bitching about not wanting to take the Medicaid money will be forced to take it after the November election because the hospital administrators, doctors, and nurses will scream into their faces for the billions of Medicaid dollars they are giving up. We need to sit back and let the law go into effect because that is what will happen period. There is no way you can stop it and all your writings about the ACA are nothing more than manuscript masturbation.

Mr. Fargo: Valley News live is not the most reliable information source. When I get the time I usually watch PBS or listen to NPR. Valley News live has lots of cat and dog stories or pictures of the fire. I seldom watch them nor do I trust a word they say. The ACA is not going to increase the sales taxes on home 3.8%. What the ACA will do is hold down health care costs and cover 30 million uninsured Americans. Is it possible that management at Valley News live might be Republican?

Rob in Oregon has a good point about the GOP. The American Jobs Act would have created or saved about two million jobs. The recent Small business tax credit bill that was filibustered by Mitch McConnell and his GOP mafia would have created at least one million jobs. It seems to me that three million jobs would have lowered out unemployment rate to around 7% or less. So the GOP is obstructionist and wants to sabotage the American economy so they can make President Obama a one term president. It could not be any plainer to see even for a blind man the "vision" thing is clear. The GOP does not want to create jobs they want the unemployment rate to rise. I can think of nothing more vile or more unpatriotic than these GOP radicals.

CBO and JCT now estimate that the insurance coverage provisions of the ACA will have a net cost of just under $1.1 trillion over the 2012-2021 period

http://cbo.gov/publication/43080

Yeah that is what I was thinking Slaw. And it only cost 1.1 trillion, what a deal!!

I though I hear the president say it wasn't going to cause deficit spending or add to the deficit. Remember "revenue neutral"?

When is the media going to call this president out on his lies??

These ladies did a great job illustrating that small business will be in great shape due to the American Healthcare Act.

BTW if I hear the republican talking point lies about this or that Oxxxxx Care phrase one more time from a conservative parrot I think I will puke!

Valley News Live in Fargo ran a completely false & misleading story on Friday 13, 2012 based on the bogus chain email claim that "If you sell your house after 2012 you will pay a 3.8 percent sales tax on it." ..........they even had Kevin Cramer saying we need to repeal Obama Care because of it.........it was their lead story and treated it like it was real news.

The silent Democrats should be all over this. It's the pubs who are the job killers. For almost four years they have been blocking every attempt to create jobs so they can make the Obama administration look like a failure. It's as obvious as the next Romney lie. If top leaders on the left don't get off the canvas and start defending their own dogma, they may as well dissolve the party. The scardy cat, I'm afraid of my job approach didn't work too well in the mid terms, and it wont bode well in November either unless the Dems find a backbone. They just cant seem to figure out that jumping ship to side with the right on issues like the Holder vote does not help them.
