The $15,000 was just the weapons and ammo. He also had on $20,000 worth of military grade SWAT tactical gear. That brings the total to a $35,000 hit. That is more than many people make in a year. No one seems to be researching how he got his hands on all the weapons grade thermal liquids that would have taken down the whole building had the bombs gone off. You don't get this stuff at Home Depot. If they want to prevent more of this in the future then for God's sake start following the money and find out how he was able to do this without anyone questioning it, like $6000 worth of ammo via the internet in one purchase. Those thermal liquids are dangerous and meet Hazmat standards of shipping. How did they get to his apartment? My nephew is an OTR truck driver with a Hazmat license. Alot of this stuff cannot even be shipped anywhere without special standards having to be met.

It is not enough to just sit back and say oh well another nut case. I don't even think more gun laws are going to remedy this. They better start connecting some dots of how this happened and how these dangerous materials got transported into an apartment building in a residential neighborhood.

This is a NATIONAL SECURITY issue. What good are all the new laws making us go thru metal detectors, take our shoes off, show id at the polls, if we are going to let this kind of random violence just occur without looking into it more deeply and asking some hard questions??

I hear ya, Linda.. these guys are written off as some nut case who snapped, but then tell us how much money and planning went into the shooting. These shooters aren't using the little S&W six shooter or even a high powered deer rifle. These are expensive weapons of mass destruction with lots of ammunition that are being used in many of these cases. The news just said Holmes spent at least $15,000 on all this stuff.

Mass shootings have become so common in America, that often they only rate the local news. Some are gangs, some are domestic disputes, but many are random shootings of strangers. The weapons are almost always automatic weapons of mass destruction. When the talking heads tell us these are isolated incidents done by madmen, they are deluding us and themselves. Right now, the local news is telling me just that and I'm thinking there sure are a lot of "isolated incidents," and that's just in Colorado.

Then we have the NRA, which, seemingly, has unlimited money, screeching that EVERYTHING is a conspiracy to repeal the Second Amendment, and whipping up the racism and hatred that is poisoning our country. The KKK is alive and well in the NRA.

Alot of what is going on is the fact that we live in a violent world. Our country has a violent aspect to its culture. too! We have millions out of work, and many who don't have the right acess to some of the proper educational facilities that they need, and many, many, more, who don't have a job to adequately support themselves. Violent talk is all around us, with alot of it coming from our nations elected officials, targeting folks on the opposite side of the political aisle. This is happening on a daily basis. Limiting the access to guns, and ammunition, and etc. is important, like we have been saying, but you also have got to tackle the other various problems in the culture. If you don't change some of the problems that excist, that are at the root of the problems, that we face as a country, nothing will change, it will only get worse.

Just read an abc news report online that said Jared Lee Loughner was also unemployed yet managed to buy a $500 Glock 19 and all kinds of expensive ammo. I thought they were going to follow up with the story but instead got off on another tangent about gun laws.

There is a disturbing pattern here. Does anyone else see it?

I just saw a photo online of a police motorcade escorting a dump truck full of debris from the apartment of James Holmes. I can't help but wonder................where is it going? Are they taking the stuff to the dump to bury it?? This stuff is evidence in a crime.

Shades of 9/11. Heavily guarded dump trucks taking debris from ground zero out to barges to be towed away. Those dump trucks were surveilled constantly and if they were one minute late returning it was a federal case. Why? All the evidence gotten rid of or buried.

I still want answers to the question of how this unemployed man was able to afford all that expensive riot gear, expensive weapons and expensive ammo. How was he able to live in an 800 square foot apartment with virtually no income. He had a nice car too. Looked practically new.

Something is just not right with this scenario.

I am waiting for the to trace these purchases to see how they were paid for. What do you want to bet we never find out.

The following is from a deeply disturbed individual:

"I don’t want this to sound harsh to anybody (notice he didn’t say “judgmental” or "critical"), but the reason that these children were in the theater at midnight to see Batman was because their parents didn’t want to pay for babysitters (notice he didn’t say “couldn’t pay” or “had no access to child care”) because babysitters are expensive. So they take the children, the children fall asleep in the movie and the parent watches the movie. And the (six) year-old girl who’s dead – the mother of the girl was shot in the chest – you just heard her father. She survived.

…The story about this is that the mother, the father – and you heard the father – took the six year-old to the midnight movie. And they did that, as I explained, ‘cause they didn’t want to pay a babysitter, because babysitters are 15 bucks an hour, OK? OK? And there you go."

These was said by Bill O'Rielly doing a live interview with a fox reporter in Aurora. The reporter had just told O'Rielly about a 6 year old child who died. When the jerk said this, the reporter looked shocked and didn't know what to say.. then the picture went black. O'rielly said "we've lost the feed, that live tv for you." I'm sure the cameraman cut the feed because the reporter was throwing up.

There is now a video on youtube, interview with an eyewitness who was in the theater. He said a second can of teargas was thrown into the crowd from the opposite side of where Holmes was standing. You can tell from this interview that there must have been a number of people who assumed there was more than one gunman. Makes you wonder.

After doing some research into this event, there are some serious questions that need to be answered.

Remembering that this young man is an unemployed graduate neuroscience student.

Granted there is no doubting the man's intelligence.

He was wearing $20,000 worth of sophisticated, SWAT style military protective gear from head to toe. Where did he get the money to buy this stuff?

He was in possession of and purchased expensive weapons and an ungodly amount of ammunition. Again, how was he able to make these purchases?

He blew away children, and dozens of people with impunity yet gave up to the police without incident? With no resistance whatsoever?

His apartment is rigged with sophisticated explosive devices, not your ordinary pipe bombs, also with all kinds of thermal liquids that when heated, explode and destroy. The police still have not figured out how they are going to diffuse everything without blowing up the building.

I know you can find out how to do all kinds of things just by reading on the internet, but this goes beyond the pale.

Unfortunately, I think the longer the economy stays slow, many unemployed, more homeless, less hope for the future, we will be seeing more of this type of situation.

Regarding Rep. Gohmert's comment from Texas. First of all, I knew, I just knew, didn't even have to look on a map to verify but did anyway----------"deep East Texas". That term is a joke even on the C/W radio stations here.

I wonder where his Judeo Christian rant was when Timothy McVeigh blew away hundreds of people in Ok City?? Nary a word.

This is another joke rep from the Tea Party. Yes, as mentioned today the 112th Congress--MOST UNPRODUCTIVE CONGRESS IN AMERICAN HISTORY. Wear it proudly Gohmert, you helped to earn the name.
