the little green men and women didnt see it landing and they are still chasing the frist two rovers that the government had nothing to do with. You all know the private sector and big business put us into space "NOT." We also know that all the jobs that were not created because of the government were created by private sector companies. I am so fed up with the poop that the government doesnt create jobs if this is true why are the gop=tea baggers and their staff getting a pay check from the u.s. government and not the private sector.
The private sector makes out with the government grants and contracts that allow them to hire and train people and if these gop=tea baggers take over all the money that small business would get will be given to the tax breaks for the wealthy who dont create job one. My son-in-law and daughter's company was happy a couple months ago as they applied and recieved a good grant to hire and train people for their company. The only requirements were that the hiring was unemployed people, and that the training was to be given to all employees. They were able to expand their staff and give people a good job. Also obama care hasnt hurt them as they already gave their people the chance to go into the company's group insurance. So much for the lie that obama care kills jobs... People need to wake up and see how these gop=tea baggers will gut the economy even more and put more people including seniors into proverty, but the hate by the right over rides common sense and I have been told that by tea people I know they dont care what the policies of the right are they just want this rag or muslum black man out. If this is racist I dont know what is....

Even the one " private" secter space flight was engineered and funded by NASA. How is that "private" secter? It also took us back decades with the need to "splash" down in the ocean. Progress????

I just saw something that was posted on facebook a picture from random funny photos. It is a photo from the mars landing from yesterday. The caption reads, as follows: Dear Religion, while you were busy arguing about chicken sandwiches, I went to Mars.

I agree with all of your remarks here. This is a big deal. My son who was one of those science guys in high school who submitted ideas to JPL for consideration, and won an award in the process, also thinks it is. HOORAY! FOR GOVERNMENT!

Miblue the private sector isnt quaking with "uncertainity",they are quaking with GREED. The nasa people came up with the ideas of all the man flights, all the unman flights, and the rovers, and then created the jobs to build the hardware that took all these to space. When the gop=tea baggers clowns say look the government never created a job then they never watch man walk on the moon, the mars rovers (one with is still going strong), the hubble telescope and others telescopes which study deep space and our neighbors in our solar system. I guess to the clown show these things just appeared like out of no where. Ask the people who work for the companies if the government doesnt create jobs in the private sector. I have a family member who is an idiot in my view as he works for a company that has a large government contract for space equipment, and yet he sits there and says the government doesnt create jobs, I say what about yours and he says it would have been there anyway. Not many people have the money to start an industry to build rockets, spacecraft, and all the other things that go into space,
I am glad to see this rover land and am waiting to see the new photos and other finds it makes...There is a NASA web site as well as a chanel on television. I have the web site on my computer and watch their television chanel.
So next time some gop=tea bagger says the government doesnt create jobs just ask these clowns about nasa.

Too bad that our flawed private enterprise system couldn't come close to achieving any of the public accomplishments of the last 100 years. Where is the competition and what happened to our risk takers - they have taken to collusion instead of competition and are quaking with "uncertainity" instead of being the bold risk takers they fancy themselves as.
