Republican Strategist: Romney Blew It on Cairo

Republican Strategist and former McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt says Mitt Romney blew it with his statement on the Cairo consulate attack.

"Look, I think it was a big mistake,” said Schmidt. “I think it was a very serious mistake. And it was because we’re at the point of the campaign now where these impressions start to harden into concrete. People are evaluating now on a daily basis who has what it takes to be the next president at a challenging time. Who has the right temperament? Who has the right character? And he fell short on that with that statement." Watch it.

I am with Chris Matthews on this one. Romney is completely uninterested in anything that is not his family, his business, or his religion. He knows only how to speak in platitudes and sound bites when it comes to foreign policy. He has no real foreign policy advisors. He is completely intellectually uncurious about anything to do with foreign interests, unless of course if would result in huge profits for some of this elite friends.

Want to get scared? Romney and Ryan will start getting Intel briefings next week. We will have 2 loose cannons with inside intelligence information. Make me a little nervous.

Also Romney says Obama will lie during the debates. And we know Romney doesn't lie.

Has anybody heard if they will allow Annie to be on stage with Mitt during the debates? Romney camp has requested that be allowed. I guess that tells us who wears the pants. Hint: It aint Mitt. I'm betten on the horse. lol

And they talk about Biden. Romney is a walking, talking gaffe machine. He's very much like Palin in the low information duh statement department. The Middle East has been a powder keg for years. Like the illegal immigrant problem, it didn't just pop up on Obama's watch. The pubs are the party of zero responsibility for anything wrong domestically or overseas. They have been playing the blame game for four years to mask their total lack of solutions. So what do they go with? Endless money for the military, drumbeats of war, more tax breaks for the rich, the old proven failure trickle down jive, Roe V. Wade, guns guns guns, evangelism, attack labor, attack education, cut funding for public transit, put women in their place, endless cuts for the middle class. That's all they got. That's all they have had for a long time.

On a side note, we are collecting billions of tax dollars hidden in Swiss banks by the richy rich, due to a whistle blower and an amnesty program. You sure wouldn't see that happen on a Romney watch since he's part of the problem in that arena.

Obama uses common sense and diplomacy while condemning these thugs who murdered our citizens in Libya. I just feel that Romney is an "empty suit" who will be inflated with the words of Ryan, tea baggers and war-hawks to carry on their own plans. Outside of big mansions and big corporations, Romney looks clueless.

Question......if Romney can bring up religion and claim Obama is anti God why can't Obama talk about the Mormon cult???? All's fair in love, war, and politics.

Steve was telling the truth. Mitt Romney continues to show us that he is not the right candidate to be President of the US. Yes these are trying times domestically and internationally. We just left Iraq and will soon be leaving Afghanistan. People are tired of war and do not want to enter into another one. Romney's explosive reactive personality it not what is needed at this time. He has a habit of not waiting until he has all the facts before commenting. The fact that some of his foreign policy advisers are from the Bush Administration does not help him. President Obama on the other hand is cool on the outside and has well developed analytical skills which he uses to look at a variety of possibilities for each situation.

Hey Rove, I don't care how much money you throw at Mitt, it doesn't look like you can buy his way out of this one, I wonder if behind closed doors Rove is pulling his hair out saying WHAT THE HELL IS IT WITH THIS GUY?
