Ben Stein didn't stick to the Republican talking points yesterday on Fox News when it comes to closing the deficit. Contradicting what he said in 2010, Stein told Fox & Friends taxes need to be raised on the wealthy. Watch it.

Excellent points, Linda. Guess nobody is listening? The system is so messed up---not what the Founding Fathers planned, for sure.

I was disgusted by Ben Stein apologizing to the three fox stooges after saying the uber rich needed to pay more in taxes in order to get the deficit under control. This is the only thing Ben Stein has ever said that I agree with.

You are right Ron, this throwing around of the word entitlements needs some clarification.

If you paid into it, it's not an entitlement.

Here's what I consider a TRUE entitlement----

1. The 400 billion dollar bailout we gave to the criminal bankers that they then turned around and paid out in obscene CEO bonuses. How come no one is calling this an entitlement.?4

2. The billions the Federal Reserve loans out interest free to foreign countries all over the world, many of whom are hostile to the U.S. that we the people get the interest bill for.

3. The ungodly high Congressional salaries for just a few months "non-work" each year, not to mention all kinds of benefits, perks, and cushy pension retirement fund.

4. Oil depletion allowance, farm subsidies, etc., we pay the oil companies for ruining the enviroment and we pay big farm conglomerates to NOT grow food.

5. We allow all the corporations that ship factories

overseas to deduct their "moving expenses" from their taxes. Who really pays??? Do I even need to answer that?

Let's get real about ENTITLEMENTS!

It's true that all these tax cuts only benefit the wealthy paying for them "trickles down" to the rest of us. So, foolish people will clap their hands because they'll save a few $$$ a month in taxes, but then have to pay higher fees, state and real estate taxes. They don't realize that tax cuts are lowering our standard of living.

I was looking at a copy of Redbook last night as I was waiting for my son's car to be repaired. They had a section called "Inspiration"---I was amazed as I read snipets from women on why they were voting for Romney. There are too many women (young and old/Caucasian and African American) who like Romney because they are pro-life or they like charter schools, etc. They have NO idea what a Romney White House will mean. They just can't see the forest for the trees. This election will determine the future of this country and so many can't see it. I am looking forward to Ed's show tonight from Sensata (sp?) factory. It should be MANDATORY viewing for everyone who is able to cast a ballot. Wake up America and smell the coffee---it could well be your last. After Romney gets in you won't be able to afford to buy a cup of coffee because you won't have a job. It will be in China, in Mexico, in India or whereever they can find someone to do your job for a buck.

I dont mind him saying raise the taxes on the very wealthy, but again I am upset with the use of the word entitlements. Damn it I paid and still pay into the so called entitlements that I am getting. Social security and medicare are not entitlements, and I guess the retirement and medical for the senators and congressmen and women are not entitlements...

The thing about his remarks is how he kiss foxie's butt by saying he loves them gee guy cant you tell the truth without kissing this phony network's butt.

enough said as today hearing the right lies and other poop isnt what I want to do

Why should we be surprised that more of the people on the conservative side with brains would come out and tell the truth? We have seen that the Bush economics doesn't work. All his programs did was to increase our deficit especially because we went into two wars and created a prescription drug program with no plan as to how we would pay for them. In time, I think more and more conservatives who really care about this country will follow and come out with the truth. Mitt's business solution is to balance the budget on the backs of the middle class and poor. He thinks that we don't get it but as we inform more and more people, he will hear the opposition to this devastating approach to our unemployment and deficit challenges.
