Romney Still Struggling Over Equal Pay for Women

Mitt Romney, true to form, has held two positions on the Lilly Ledbetter equal pay law over the last 24 hours... at least if you believe the statements from his surrogates. Either he is against equal pay for women, or he holds no position at all on the matter. Now ask yourself, if Romney can't come out and admit he supports something as common sense as equal pay for women, what hope do we have that he would be sympathetic to any Americans' needs in the White House?

Mitt really wants to pay men 23% less so there is equal pay for equal work for women. I would watch out for this boss from ------ guys!

Hey Lee. The next thing the GOP tea baggers will push is workplace voting - so you can give your ballot to your boss on election day and avoid the long lines at the polls. Sweet!

Lee these people use the power of the paycheck to get their way. A couple of things I would done I would have walked out of the plant that was closing and moving to china if I was told I had to train the people who would be taking my job. Second when I worked for GE I was bugged about my performance even when I proved it was their policies and the area I worked in that caused the problem. Finally had a boss that was fair and we proved it wasnt my problem. New boss came in and it started again and I said I am getting a lawyer and sueing, and even wrote to he VP of our group and soon they got off my back. Our union back me on this and this is what these people have to do as these jerks in the management positions know they have some power, but if the workers as a group would stand up and say enough and walk then they dont have a company and they know it. Even when there are people looking for jobs how long will it take to train these people into positions and how long will their customer put up with delays. If people would wake up and fight and not be afraid of the boss then the power of the people would return.. You might say well you are retired, yes I am but I fought for my rights and then for others as a shop steward and people need to stop fearing the boss as he most likely fears the workers more.

I hope all the people are being told to vote for romeny or lose their jobs vote for obama and how do these bosses know who they vote for.

People stand up and be a freedom fighter against these guys who feel they have the right to demand you vote their way.....

VOTE OBAMA AND MAKE A STATEMENT THAT YOU ARE AN AMERICAN....

Forgive me for going off topic but I wanted to address the story of employers pushing their employees into voting for Romney. I think this policy will create a backlash that would more than cancel out their desired results. For example, I work for a consulting engineering firm. Over the last three years we have been vaguely but surely threatened with our jobs if we fall below a billable hour quota. Many have been let go for that reason (with the curious exception of our unbillable upper management). It has crossed over the line to being abusive long ago. After being treated in that manner for such a long period, can they seriously expect us to do their bidding in the voting booth? Give me a break!

Just to say if people are doing the same job and they both do it well then pay them the same. If a man isnt do a job well and a woman is then pay her for this and the other side of the coin is true. Pay should be base on performance not on sex. And again all things said if a man and woman is doing a job at the same level of performance they should get the same pay. I have worked with ladies and they did the job as well as their male counterparts and were paid the same. We were also union so the company couldnt pay less and the people who were in charged held men and women back in pay if they didnt do the job.

Mittens and the other righties want woment to stay at home, cook, clean, and be there to have sex and kids. Lets go back to the furture for women when men were called the lord and master.

If I tried that with my wife I would be sleeping on the couch and fixing my own meals.

he is the ultimate salsemen, he will believe whatever the market he is targetting wants--he has no opinion on woman tthat is why it will be like putting a worm on a fishing hook to get what his "real opinion is" he has none..blank slate kind of thing..his kids don 't know that yet?Tough to believe.(reference to Tag wanting to throw a punch at pres obama), might be normal age alzheimer, like reagon had? Too late for early onset. norquist & rove only neeed a set of functionin finger digits to sign papers when told to do so.his views are irrerlevant to the presidency.

To me Mitt is not struggling over equal pay for equal work. His background and experiences form his REAL belief that women play a subservient role in society. The use of the terms "binders of women" and "qualified" women expressed his TRUE feelings about how he sees women. The GOP and he can spin it all they want but the truth is what he said at the last debate is where he really stands. To try to win this election, Mitt continually tries to please and fool people by taking both sides of an issue but somewhere here people will get this and see him for who he really is. Mitt is nothing more than an opportunist and bully. It seems that even his wife and sons are under his spell.
