Presidential Debate: 'We also have fewer horses and bayonets'
posted by Ed Staff | Tuesday, October 23, 2012

President Obama devastated Mitt Romney's attacks on military readiness last night, rightly pointing out that although Romney claims we have fewer ships than we've had since 1916, "We have these things called aircraft carriers where planes land on them. We have these ships that go underwater, nuclear submarines. And so, the question is not a game of Battleship where we’re counting ships, it’s what are our capabilities?"

The real zinger that exploded Twitter however was when the President said, "Well, governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets because the nature of our military has changed." Watch it.

Romney, the man with many personalities, played the role of a moderate political candidate. This is NOT who he really is. It was all an act to try to fool his audience. Most of his foreign policy advisers were neocons from the Bush Administration who LOVE wars. In my lifetime, Mitt is the most deceitful individual to run for the highest position in the US. He must get along very well with Karl Rove because both of them have absolutely no consciences. Where Romney is focused on profits and power, Rove is focused on his vision of making this country permanently into a one party state. They are both very dangerous characters that we need to watch carefully.

Saw on FB a picture of Romney at last nights debate with a shocked look: "you mean we have airplanes that land on ships? Let me ask you this, do the windows role down".

I read a short article about Mitt not allowing a back ground check on certian issues. The check that needs to be cleared for "classified information" clearance. Are we going to have a President that has no access to classified information? Is it possible to be President without that clearance?

Also read this morning, Ohio republican districts sending out "voter instructions" with the wrong election date and other information.

Romney ownes the voting machines in key states. If you can't win it, buy it.

MItt Romney did not have an answer for this question: MR. SCHIEFFER aske Romney: What if — what if the prime minister of Israel called you on the phone and said: Our bombers are on the way. We're going to bomb Iran. What do you say?

Do you want Mitt Romney being the guy who has to make a decision in real life as President when he can't answer the above question in a debate??????.........it really shows Mitt is bluffing when he uses his hypotheticals to justify increased Military spending in the trillions & he has no clue how to handle a major crisis...........

Why did Mitt Romney avoid answering this question when he throws out hypothetical to justify his 2 Trillion increase of your tax dollars in his Military budget?

MR. SCHIEFFER: What if — what if the prime minister of Israel called you on the phone and said: Our bombers are on the way. We're going to bomb Iran. What do you say?

Romney & the Republican Party from Dick Cheney using a hypothetical "we are going to get hit again" to Romney/Ryan using bogus hypotheticals such as "Iran 4 years away from the Nuclear Bomb"................yet MItt claims he doesn't like to get into hypotheticals while using it to justify trillions in increased Military budgets?????????????

MItt Romney was out of his league on Foreign Policy.............

President Obama once again mopped the floor with Mitt Romney.........Mitt knew he was out of his league & had a zero chance winning a debate with President Obama on Foreign Policy..........so the Mitt Romney that showed up at the debate basically agreed with President Obama's foreign policy, but presented it as his own ideas..............& when he tried to go on offense with his false Navy claim...........President Obama made Mitt look stupid & non-presidential...........by the way Paul Ryan has made the bogus smallest Navy claim in the past..........

Wow, what happened to the "severely Conservative" Mitt? Last night you would think he was running against Obama in a Democratic primary. Conservative Mitt, moderate Mitt, who am I Mitt? The best part was the post debate smack talk on Fox saying but, but but but, he accomplished his legitimacy and goals, his commander in chiefness, blah blah blah. The only thing he accomplished was reinforcing his persona as a serial flip flopper. The man has a serious character flaw not knowing where he stands on any given issue at any given time. The media needs to quit pandering to the wannabe intellectuals who are STILL undecided. If your still undecided with two weeks to go, you are as wishy washy as Romney is.

I'd rather have the smart guy as Commander-in-Chief than someone whose idea of foreign policy can best be personified by Yosemite Sam.

Not to mention 6,000 nuclear warheads - enough to completely destroy a planet that is warming out of control. Oh that's right, the GOP believes that burning 300 million years of solar energy stored in the earth as fossil fuels in just 2 centuries will have no impact on the air we need to breath. Rest easy world, the oil and coal companies have your back - sort of.
