There's a lot of talk but no action on the sequester. The devastating cuts are scheduled to hit next month, Republicans are publicly admitting they will alow it to happen, and Alan Simpson and Erskine Bowles are recommending austerity and sacrifice from the middle class while the corporations and the wealthy continue to collect their perks. This calls for a dose of Big Eddie.
We now know, as if we didn't know earlier, that the GOP will do ANYTHING to bring down this country so that they can discredit the President of the United States. They do not feel any commitment to the American People who elected them to office. In their minds the "virtue of selfishness" and their financial donors are their guiding stars. This is a perfect example of the idea that democracy is not free. When our democracy is threatened from within this country, we also need to fight back with all the might we have. We cannot allow for another set of elections as in 2010. Our country, states and cities must be protected from the self-centered corporate libertarians whose only goal is to privatize as many public institutions as they can so that they can increase their wealth and power while limiting ours.

Boehner's questorship has made him a criminal. By virtue of his lies, he is mentally detached from reality and immediately needs seized by authorities and forced to live out his life in retirement. For the sake of the country and the normal citizens who live there in,..... Boehner needs withdrawn from public use.....
Congress needs to act. And his interposing followers, Ryan, Paul, Cantor, McConnell, Rand & McCain need to be severely punished by the people's court for delinquencies of their mind.

A majority of the media ignores this very fact when covering the sequester........it was used to release the hostage "the Economy" when the Republican Party threatened to put the USA into default by going over the fiscal cliff while playing political games with the debt ceiling............it wasn't an Obama idea, it was part of negotiating with Radical Republican Economic terrorists...............sequester was used to temporarily release the hostage..........

Donna I am not that far behind you in age (68) and I worked all my life, I served in the air force for almost 5 years, I supported my family, pay into social security, medicare and we paid all our taxes while busting our buttons off. Now some people say well you people are causing the problem give me a break. These clowns get 174,000.00 dollars a year with 239 days off with 126 days the house will be in session. I just wish I could have had that pay, the benefits, free travel around the world, untaxed gas, and all those days off while just working about 4 months per year. I forgot the donations of money for my campain and all the free travel while running for office and saying I would be a hard working congressman or senator. A friend said we should have a part time congress he is wrong as we already have a part time congress, and have a full time president and vice president as they dont get the days off like congress except if you were gw bush for 8 years. He took more days off in a year than this president ever even did in four years.
The sequester is a joke as the gop/tea baggers wanted it now they have it and their cash cow the penagon will have to watch it's budget and the gop/tea baggers dont like this. It means they may have to think twice before going to war, the said thing is twice will give them time to lie us into it and not pay for it again. The main cuts wont take effect on the first day but will come in at a steady rate.

You're both right about the TeaPublicans. Their work record stinks! If we of the middle class worked like they do, we'd NEVER hold down any job! Nobody in the working world of the Middle Class gets as many days off as members of Congress! Imagine if we only worked a 103 days a year and still were paid a high salary!!! We would have it made in the shade! I think the first deficit cuts should be made to the salaries of members of Congress! And, no work; no pay! WHY should they get paid when they don't work? This makes my blood boil! I'm 75 and retired. I raised a family and worked at a job for 45 years! I EARNED my Social Security Retirement money! And, now these *********TeaPublicans want to cut the payments I get each month!!! How DARE they do that with MY money! I want them to keep their greedy hands off of the money I worked so hard for and so many years for! And Medicare, they want to mess with Medicare and Medicaid! In the first place, Medicare health Insurance is NOT free! I pay every month for my Medicare insurance. These lunatics make it sound like the government is providing us Seniors with free healthcare insurance! This is NOT true! Same thing with Medicaid! SS, Medicare and Medicaid have contribute nothing to the national deficit! Two unnecessary wars that the GOP got us into during the Bush Administration, and that we're still paying for, HUGE tax breaks for the wealthy, reckless, illegal; corrupt goings-on on Wall Street, and millions of jobs sent overseas is what caused the bad economy, NOT any programs for the middle class and the poor!!! It's about time these birdbrain nutcases were given the boot- right out of Congress! We need to vote them out in the 2014 elections!

Don't be so hard on them. after all they're scheduled to "work" 103 days this year. That's only $1,689/day. What, you want them to go hungry. HEHEHEHE

The repub's need to lose the Elephant and replace it with a Groundhog. They can come out of their hole once a year and reassure the public with six more weeks of inaction and cheap threats. This is not to be confused with the other 46 weeks of inaction and cheap threats.
