Since the recovery from the recession began, corporate profits have soared while the middle class continues to suffer. Big Eddie's here to explain how the corporations have channeled the recovery into bigger profits at the expense of jobs.
Linda s. What happened in Texas is what Eric Cantor is trying to do to Va. teachers. Cantor is a sleazy as Perry.............

Well Linda the problem is many of us have been ripped off with our savings. GE savings and security program was ok but when the market took a dive two times and many of us saw our investments go away. I took it out after the second dive because the third one was coming and it did and was taxed higher than the super wealthy. Now they want to charge more for things like medicare and then raising the deductable and the co-pay.
Linda I am 68 and I still planning to go out again this year on fire strike teams. Instead of enjoying life I am doing this and may go get a part time job to get back on track. Had some things come up that hurt the budget and finally had to use credit cards which we hadnt done for many many years. The department is still getting a grant I hope and they will be having 3 people working under the grant to keep firefighters and recruit more. I will apply for that and if that falls by the way side then I will be going out looking. It seem like they like to pick on the retired people and federal workers. The house cant cut their days off seeing boehner has them only working 126 days so how can you cut that and they are exempt anyway.
The joke here Linda is that many people here are government workers at all levels. They cry about taxes, they cry about us who are on medicare and social security, they cry about their pensions because they only get about 60 to 80 percent depending on years and contract they were under when they retire. Most of them had to run like I did for years they would die. I started work many mornings at or before 6am and worked anywhere from 7 to 9 pm 5 to six days a week. I also drove anywhere from 100 to 175 miles a day to do my job. So I am tire of these cry babies here. Some dont cry but most here who do are gop=tea baggers and only want cuts that wont hurt their pocket books.

You are right everybody. I remember when they did that to all of you teachers, in Texas, in the 80's Linda. I don't trust any of them.
I am quite sick and tired of Federal workers being the guinea pigs for their little games that they seem to want to play. Hello, Congress you are Federal employees too! Nobody knows what being a Federal worker is all about except those of us who live with one. After August, I will find out what it is like to live on an income which took a real nose dive. but it is not like my husband has gotten rich off of the salary he makes off of this job. He is extremely under-paid, when you look at most of the people that he works with, and what they make and what they do in their jobs, the work load just gets piled up on him. So for that reason alone, I won't miss any of these people, at all.
but Ed is right in the fact, that, you have to make some kind of salary for years to get to some kind of reitrement, or to be able to save for it. You have to be able to support your kids or yourself when you are younger too. IIts all about income inequality, and it doesn't matter if you currently work or are retired, and always will be about all of that.

Ron,
That is why my mother and I banked at the same bank before she died. I could funnel money into her account when she needed it.
As for myself, I will probably never be able to retire and I am 60. They keep wanting to up the age for everything. Why?? Is it because they have already looted the funds and just don't want us to know it?
Back in the mid 80's millions of Texas teacher retirement money and city worker pensions were squandered on bogus real estate investments that were tied to the Savings And Loan crooks. And yet it was illegal to invest Teacher Retirement money in anything risky that could be lost. Yet they did it.
But the workers were not entitled to even touch that money unless they were of retirement age or leaving their jobs, and even then, the government took a big fat 20 percent out for taxes before even one dime of it was refunded to the owner.
The game is rigged folks. Most of us have known it for a long time.

I just sit and wonder what ED is talking about. I know the workers are getting screwed, but we who are retired are getting it even worst. I will be retired 10 years later this year, and my old company has given me one extra check which they took all the deductions out and when I break it dow it come out to 120.00 per year. The feds froze our social security fo two years even when the prices for everything kept going up including medicare, and all the medical insurances seniors pay for. I now get about 5000.00 less that I did 3 years ago and that is when I turned 65. I am getting tired of them saying we need to cut the ENTITLEMENTS!! I want the clown show to come and live on what I get after all the deductions they take and want to increase as they say we are getting to much. I think their will be a revolt and it wont be the younger people it will be us seniors who worked our fannies off, paid our taxes, and paid for all our so called entitlements.

Congress needs to have their salary cut too. All their vacations and days off, then while they are in session virtually nothing gets done but gridlock.
And I am sick of seeing Romney and wife on tv playing the whining blame game about why they lost. Oh, it couldn't have been anything they did or said right?
Blaming the media for losing. Yet they used the media to the tune of billions buying ads using the mega mogul money while telling us corporations are people.
This is what happens when you believe your own publicity.

All the whining the NoPublicans do is like Chicken Little running around claiming the sky is falling. Educate yourself and participate in your democracy. All is not lost if you have not given up.

Lyin" Ryan and Willard concocted a false reality to sell on the campaign trail. Then they started to believe their own BS

We all must be actively involved to make sure that our country stays a democracy and does not become a corporate dictatorship. Our voices need to drown the bull that the GOP is trying to sell. In an austerity program, only the wealthy benefit. We have a jobs problem not a spending problem. We need to call out the conservative media for lying to the public. We have to have the President's back because he cannot do it by himself. When he goes out to talk with the public, the GOP claims that he is still campaigning but he is doing exactly what needs to be done. If it were up to the conservatives, not everyone would be able to voice their opinions through voting. The GOPs like to act as dictators and then call the President the dictator. They are trying to use the Karl Rove projection technique in which they are projecting their shortcomings onto the President and the Democrats. The more we are informed about the agenda of the GOP, the more we are prepared to fight these selfish, greedy individuals who want to take us back in time so that they can rule this country as they want with NO input from the rest of us.

At least one good thing came out of the sequester. ALL congressional office budget must be cut by 8.2%. Needs to be more like 20% but it's better than nothing.
